Need help with a question about the constitution! i cant find the answer anywhere!?

the question i have is what are the reasons why the founding fathers established the procedures for amending the US constitution. I looked all over the internet for the answer and i just cant find it. My book isn't helping either. if someone could explain this to me i would be SO grateful. Thank You!!
