Would a space ship, traveling at constant velocity away from earth, decelerate?

this is not necessarily accurate. in a way they are correct. technically the earth would pull on the cannonball, but it would be a slight pull and would not be strong enough to keep you on the ground. you may decelerate slightly but not alot.
