Why is jules out on the full moon?

in vampire diaries, in the episode "by the light of the moon" its tyler's first full moon so its his first transformation into a werewolf. so he completely locked himself up underground and is in immense pain. meanwhile jules (whose also a werewolf) is out at the grill on the full moon and is perfectly comfortable, in no pain that we can see. and even mason who had been a werewolf over a dozen times before had himself locked up. why is jules any different?
